Let me tell you about Hill City High School.  We are school that has quite a stellar academic record.  Our four year average ACT average is over 24, with the class of 2018 having the highest scores in South Dakota at 25.6.    We have an outstanding Math, Science, and English course offering for a school our size.  We offer AP Calculus, AP Lit and Lang, and AP Biology on campus with an actual teacher.   What test scores can't tell you is how successful Hill City Graduates are in the post secondary setting.  Our Graduates simply do well and we are very proud of them.  

 

Our school climate and environment are amazing.  It is cool here to be a scholar.  Academics are valued and, as a small community, teachers and staff know ALL of our kids well.  Our kids are kind, and we all feel lucky to come to work each day.  

 

I am in my 20th year here in Hill City and both of my children graduated from our high school moved on to the collegiate ranks to be a Mechanical Engineer and a Nurse.
